Danielle is a fully qualified and accredited member of The Society of Sports Therapists and has been practicing Sports Therapy for over 5 years in a variety of capacities. Her breadth of experience extends from private consultation to working in a team environment with sports performers. Following a period at Southend United Girls Football Academy Danielle continued to develop her therapy skills with The British Colleges National Netball Squad; traveling with the team providing injury prevention, first aid and rehabilitation programs for her athletes.
Alongside treating patients in her private clinic in Essex, Danielle lectured at Chelmsford College, educating students in Sports Injuries and Sports Massage, as well as delivering the Football Association medical courses to sports coaches, players & parents. Since moving to Guildford in June 2010 and joining Optimum Sports Injury Clinic, Danielle has continued to enjoy successfully treating patients with both traumatic and chronic injuries and working alongside them throughout their rehabilitation.
“Many of my patients present to me having adopted compensatory movements to avoid their pain. I am very passionate about visualising the body as a whole & not focussing upon the isolated area. Through an in depth assessment to locate the cause of the complaint and a combination of specialised hands on muscle release techniques we break the pain cycle together. Through simple exercises specifically used to stimulate the correct muscle firing patterns and restore accurate pain free movement my patients can then begin to develop the strength to fulfill the requirements of their daily lives”.
Danielle is accomplished in myofascial release, muscle relaxation, deep tissue and trigger point therapy techniques. Her repertoire further extends to include joint mobilisation procedures, the application of ultrasound and electrotherapy modalities, as well as a wide range of strengthening and rehabilitation exercises.
Following graduation from The University of Hertfordshire in 2005, Danielle pursued her passion for traveling and joined Holland American Cruise Lines as Fitness Director. Aside from teaching a variety of classes including pilates and yoga, Danielle provided personal training and nutritional consultancy, developing her knowledge with a variety of clientele from focused athletes to those seeking weight loss.
As a keen runner, Danielle trains regularly integrating gym workouts into her schedule. Previously a National Event Rider she understands the frustrations associated with injury and although the rehabilitation can be an arduous task; Danielle has the understanding and can provide the support you require to ensure your return to full functional fitness.
